WOODSTOCK...
Took a couple days off work and traveled with Michelle and Sterling up to Woodstock earlier this week. Since check in to the cabin was at 4:00 and we arrived early, we decided to take a hike up Overlook Mountain. It's a pretty amazing hike with spectacular views once you get to the top. About 2 miles in you come to the Overlook Mountain House which originally opened it's doors in 1871. After multiple fires only the shell of the hotel remains. It is pretty surreal to come across this gigantic structure in the middle of the woods on a hiking trail. We took some pics of the ruins...

UPCYCLED COFFEE TABLE...
There was an old wood door in my attic that's been sitting there since we moved in. I wanted to find a creative way to use it in a project. I decided to cut it up along with some other wood planks I had lying around and reface an Ikea coffee table we had in the living room. This was my first project using my new sliding compound mitre saw and I am very pleased with the results. It took a lot of hours to cut and fit all the pieces together and mitre all of the corners, and it made a mess with all the sawdust, but it should make an awesome conversation piece when finished. I bought some old antique hardware (knobs etc.) that I still have to attach. Here is a pic... almost finished
