ART SHOW
Well, here they are... the three screenprints I'm gonna be showing at the Stay Gold, "Too Art For TV!" show. Wow, who's that pretty lady in the middle? I will also be showing my film entitled "Bend Over and Take IT!" starring Spade Newton, everyones favorite eunuch pup. Also on display will be Carnival Cartoons 1st independantly produced collectible toy "Buzz" the tattooed strongman, that I've talked endlessly about for the past few months. Both the prints and toy will be on sale at the show. Each poster is a 4-5 color screen print on high quality 18x24 "Arches" paper and limited to runs of 25. Buzz is limited to 250 pcs and comes in a fancy-schmancy box complete w/ certificate of authenticity signed by my partner Garnet & myself (Carneys creators) and also by the amazing sculptor Eric Nocella. I'm attaching a flyer for those of you who wanna check out a sweet art show in Brooklyn. Seriously guys, there's gonna be some really talented folks showing their art & animation... Liz Artinian (Venture Bros. BG painter), Dave Levy of ASIFA fame, Christy Karacas (Space War & Bar Fight), Uncle Phil Rynda, & so on. At least 24 artists in all. Even my partner Garnet will be selling some of his sweet posters at the counter. I will expect all of my New York peops to show up... no lame excuses! As my good friend Al would say,"It's gonna be the tits!"

REDWALLS ANIMATED
Here's a few more stills from the Redwalls video. It's a shame I can't post the bg's as well, as they were created using a lot of trasparencies & whatnot & for some reason I'm having trouble exporting them as jpegs. Sorry Tim, I'd love to show off your beautiful bg's as well. This is a scene I animated featuring the Redwall's manager. We kinda made this character up, who knows what their real manager looks like. In this scene he's sort of having a nervous breakdown because the show is about to start & he has no idea where the band is. These characters lended themselves very well to Flash, I had a blast animating all of their crazy expressions. & I know this sounds odd, but it was super fun to animate their hair as well. They all have these big shaggy hairdos which allowed me to play with lots of secondary animation.

TOY BOX SAMPLE
So the manufacturer sent me a few sample boxes of the Buzz toy for approval the other day. In one of my earlier posts I showed the design. Well, here's the completed box. It's pretty neat to see it all come together. Less than a month away now. I get my 1st shipment delivered the second week in January. Can't wait!

GAME OVER
Well, just put the finishing touches on the jumbotron bit, & hey, it's only 1AM, not too shabby. Here's a couple more roughs. If any of you Vancouverites are ever at a Giants game lemme know if they actually play this thing.

HOCKEY...SMASH
...for lack of a better title for this post. A little Incredible Hulk, I know, but whatever, it's late & I can't think of anything better. More from the jumbotron. This dude slams into the boards & then slides down. SPLAT.... SQUEEEEEEEGEE. You get the idea.

GOOSED
Another still from the hockey bit. This guy gets slammed & then sits up & sees stars... and geese. I thought it would be funny to subsitute the standard bird circling head bit w/ canadian geese.
Oh yeah...

Check it out... more surfin!
P.S. Pinstripes are NO fun to animate!!!

REDWALLS VIDEO
Here's an animated sequence from the "Redwalls" video I wrapped on back in October. From what I gather, it is supposed to air on the"N"... you know, that Nickelodeon station. Give me a heads-up if anyone has seen it yet. It was a super fun video to animate. This is Logan (vocals) as he appears in one of the earlier scenes in the video shredding it up z-boys style. Everything was animated in Flash, but as you can see here I was encouraged to go very traditional with this bit. Also be sure to check out the band, they're awesome! www.theredwalls.com

YOU AGAIN?
Here's the latest pic from the factory. Almost done!!! As you can see the box is completed as well. I approved the samples. So in less than a month I'll have an apartment full of these things. The final Buzz's will be painted like the original. I haven't recieved a paint sample yet, but i'm sure it's on its way.

HIGH STICKING!
Some roughs for the hockey bit. After getting his arm grabbed, the Giants mascot whips around as if to say..."What the hell man, get off my back!"

WAIT...TIME OUT!
You can post animation on this thing?!? Heres some animation from the Jumbotron thingy. This dude is the "King of Floors"... seriously. He's a floor salesman up in Vancouver I think. He dresses up like a king & has this little dog who also dresses up (Scruffy I think his name is). Together they plan to take over the world... one floor board at a time. Well, I embellished that last part a bit. Do a Google search & check him out, he's awesome. I only have less than a week to pump this out, so the animation is a bit limited... probably not my best effort, but i dig doin' these weird off the wall jobs. Enjoy! Also, I know I've been slackin' on the music video posts... I'll get more of that stuff up soon, I didn't forget.

POSTER BOY
Well, just finished a long day at the office. Now I'm home, and just settled in for a nice, relaxing night of... more work! Crap! Oh well, just sat down at the computer w/ my Chinese take-out & figured I'd post something right-quick. Anyways, this image is the second in the "Buzzed" series for the "Stay Gold" show in January. I call this one..."Geekin' Out: The Midway Modern". Thought it would be kinda funny to incorperate the old world sideshow w/ the new. The handlebar mustache is a throwback to the oldie days. The rubber chicken I guess would be the modern day element. For those of you that don't know & as Merriam-Webster OnLine dictionary so eloquently puts it, a "geek" is... "a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake" Hence the chicken. Also notice that our good friends the Carneys make a cameo. Hope you guys dig this one, it was a lot o' fun.
Book reccommendation: GEEK LOVE by Katherine Dunn... classic!
