PUMPKIN CARVIN'
Well here it is 3:30 in the morn & I'm still up workin. This has become a common occurrance lately. It's crunch time on this project I've been workin on. Ahhh, the life of a freelance artist. The good news is when this project is wrapped I'm gonna have a ton of new, super cool stuff to share w/ you guys. I've kinda been neglecting the blog for the past week, so I thought I'd take a break & post something. Before takin' on all this work, I had planned on having a pumkin carvin' party at my place for me & my friends. Because of the work crunch, I was never able to have it. But I was thinkin, why can't I have it anyways... with you guys. I tried this once before & it kind of worked. so here it goes... I declare a pumpkin carving (rather drawing) contest! You know the drill, lets see those pumpkins. If enough people participate, maybe I can post a few of the standouts. I know y'all are busy busy, so oldies are fine.

Anyways, for those of you in the NY/ Brooklyn area. I'm gonna be doin' a little partyin' at the Union Pool bar in Williamsburg (corner of Union & Meeker). Come throw a couple back w/ me if ya like. No presents yet, it's still pretty early in the morning. This year I'm hoping for like a dinosaur or rocket ship, or ya know... something along those lines.

LINKS!
I've posted a bevy of new links. Some are friends, some I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, but one things for sure... all are amazing artists! Check 'em out if you get a chance.

MONSTER MASH
Just a quick Halloween doodle.
By the way, I just recieved my copy of the Meathaus sketchbook in the mail. I know they've plugged it on the Brew & the like, but seriously folks, do yourselves a favor & order it. I was surprised at how much art is crammed in this book, mostly rough sketches & doodles. It inspired me to loosen up a bit. I tend to feel the need to always clean up my roughs. Anyways, there's a few crowd favorites in this one... Katie Rice, Chad Coyle, Chris Mitchell, John Kricfalusi (who has like 17 pages of character layouts from one of the newer Ren & Stimpy's), etc. Here's the link for anyone who hasn't already ordered their copy... http://www.meathaus.com/goforthegoldpreview.php?article_ID=13

ONE OF US, ONE OF US
These are really old, so be forgiving. These are a few sketches I had done as a bid for the "Howard Stern, High School Years" cartoon. They've been talking about doing this cartoon forever, Howard would often talk about it on his show. Anyways I think everyone & his mother did a bid for this show. I'm not really sure where the project stands now or even if it's still a thing, maybe one of you can enlighten me. I believe they ended up going with more of a "Crumb" type feel as Howard is a huge comic fan. I had the pleasure of meeting him once while I was working over at Spike TV. I have to admit I was extermely hung over that day (I mean sick... cough, cough) & contemplated not going to work. But I knew Howard was gonna be there & I'm a pretty big fan, so I sucked it up. Funniest thing was we got prepped before he walked in... ya know the whole look busy dont ask too many questions type deal. When he finally arrived, he took the time to stop at every one of our desks shake our hand & chat us up a bit. Seriously he stopped & talked to each & every one of us. Full of compliments this guy, I think he truly was interested in what we were doing. He even talked about his animation tour the next day on his broadcast & mentioned a couple of dudes I work with. Anyways... I hope it works out & he does find someone to do the show, it could be a lot of fun. I'm a little bummed we didn't get the gig cuz I was really lookin' foward to that premiere party at Scorers.
